As an Online instructor, I meet so many bright students that are very talented in creating their own characters with distinct characteristics and personality traits. One of my students, Henry J, was very gifted on this front.
One of the most important aspects of a good character design is a recognizable character with a distinct silhouette. No matter where a character is seen, whether in a cartoon or a video game, these things will determine if an audience remembers the character. I make sure to teach this to all of my students, and Henry came up with many great examples, Kevin being the first.
Although Kevin may have an ordinary name, his final design looks like the hero of the newest adventure game. Below is my rendition of Kevin.
