“Target Acquired” is a small series of digitally created illustrations that portray the same exact scene from three different angles: each angle adding a new layer to the narrative at hand.
As one can see, this series heavily focuses on perspective, and order of events. I wanted to be able to depict a story by adding new elements into each illustration as a new one is introduced, which is where the closeup angles play their roles.
The story is absolutely the main focus in these illustrations, however I also wanted to experiment with the impact of color on these as well. I really enjoyed the idea of using a monochrome scheme while also challenging myself to work with something I hadn’t really done before. It was an interesting experience in limiting my pallete in this way, as it pushed me to be smarter with my usage of white and grey when shading. Overall, I really enjoyed working in this scheme and plan to work with it again in the future!
